Envision Opelika

The Envision Opelika Foundation, Inc. exists as an organization in support of the shared goals developed by the citizens of Opelika focused on improving the quality of life for all citizens of the community. To further this mission, Envision Opelika and the Envision Opelika Foundation, Inc. seeks broad public participation, develops new leadership within the community, and facilitates the identification and implementation of concrete strategies to accomplish established goals.

The legitimacy of the visioning process rests on broad public participation and on a solid foundation of ideas. Two ideas represent the core of the Envision Opelika effort:
First, people are more likely to affect change if they articulate what they actually want rather than discuss the problems that have created current conditions.
Secondly, the future cannot be predicted, but people can express what they desire for the future. In expressing their desires, people are more likely to work together toward the desired condition.
